Talk Summary


Scott’s known for his Ultimate Tools List at http://www.hanselman.com/tools
and his ongoing efforts to collect and use tools that help developers be as
effective as possible. Your brain thinks fast, why should your fingers be
“I/O Bound?” Join us at this fast-paced talk about Scott’s philosophy of
effectiveness, a journey that might introduce you to a number of Apps,
Applets, Add-Ins, Toolbars and Shell Customizations that’ll take your
development environment to the next level. We’ll also talk about Test Driven
Development and Continuous Integration and may also touch on a number of
CompSci concepts like Cyclomatic Complexity.


Speaker Bio


Scott Hanselman is Chief Architect at the Corillian Corporation, an eFinance
enabler. He has thirteen years of experience developing software, in last 6
years with VB.NET and C#. Scott is proud to have been appointed the
Microsoft Regional Director for Portland, OR for the last five years,
developing content for, and speaking at Developer Days and the Visual
Studio.NET Launches in both Portland and Seattle. Scott was in the top 5% of
audience-rated speakers at TechEd 2003 in Dallas and at TechEd 2005 in
Orlando. He’s spoken in Africa, Europe and Asia on Microsoft technologies,
and co-authored Professional ASP.NET 2.0 with Bill Evjen and Devin Rader. In
2001, Scott spoke on a 15-city national tour with Microsoft, Compaq and
Intel featuring Microsoft Technologies and evangelizing good design
practices. Scott has also spoken at VSLive, and was made a Microsoft MVP for
ASP.NET in 2004 and a Solutions Architecture MVP in 2005. His thoughts on
