[UPDATED February 27, 2017 — There’s a new version of the guide and I’ve updated the links in this post to point to the new version.]

Well, you may have heard that Team Foundation Server 2017 (TFS2017) was released today.

If you’re interested in installing it, here’s my TFS2017 install guide.  It’s ~80 pages of step-by-step instructions with screenshot on how to set up Windows Server 2016, SQL Server 2016, and Team Foundation Server 2017.

Here’s that link again.

Enjoy!

    Hi

I have recently migrated the TFS from 2015 to 2017. The migration went successful. I am using VS 2015 Update 3. My name is listed in project collection administrator. I am unable to create team project using visual studio 2015 update 3. i am able to create through web without any issues.
I am getting the error like You cannot create Team project with version of visual studio. Please help

Hey Sankara — I’m not 100% sure what’s going on here. My *guess* is that you can’t create a new TFS2017 team project from VS2015. If you don’t need SharePoint or SSRS for your team projects, you can go to the Team Project Collection admin page in a browser (click on the gear icon) and create a team project from there. Otherwise, you’ll probably need to install VS2017 and create a team project from there.
